LEANNE PEARSON

Leanne's Passion for design, colour and most importantly light Have become the key elements to her exceptional work. She loves rhythm and movement and through her energetic brushstrokes this she skilfully conveys this. Leanne is the mother of two small children and her current paintings depictthis stage of her life where she is expressing motherhood and the warmth, tenderness and vulnerability that comes with it.

Leanne is a South African immigrant and has a strong design background. Her accomplishments include work produced for the giftware industries of South Africa, Japan, United Statesand Canada. These include greeting cards, fine art prints, t-shirts, table placemats and calendars. Private commission work for the Bronx Zoo in New York and the World Wildlife Fund.

Leanne has exhibited at the Surtex Design Show in New York, The Birmingham Show and The Watercolour Society of South Africa where she won "Best on Show'. In Western Australia her work is frequently seen at established galleries in Perth and country areas. She entered the Stirling Art Awards in 2001 and 2002 where she was voted 'People's Choice' on both occasions and received 'Highly Commended'. Leanne has also had work featured in the Australian Artist magazine. In 2002 she received a merit award at the Perth Royal Show. She has been commissioned and painted many Perth families.
